Sea Buckthorn berry oil is a beneficial oil used in dietary supplements and cosmetics. Basic research suggest that Buckthorn berry oil gets its health benefits from its high fatty acid concentration, antioxidants, and phytosterols.  In particular the fatty acids palmitoleic acid (omega-7), linoleic acid (omega-6) and Oleic acid (omega-9) carry much of the health benefits in Buckthorn berry oil.*

Palmitoleic acid is a conditional fatty acid (Omega-7) that is commonly found attached to glycerides in fat tissue and although it is found in all cells it is abundant in liver tissue.  Conditional means this fatty acid is normally made by your body but under stress your body may not be able to make enough and may require an outside source.*

Our Sea Buckthorn Oil is cold-pressed, unrefined and it comes in vegan capsules that are made from plant cellulose instead of the commonly used gelatin. We use the valuable berry oil only and do not dilute our oil with the added seed oil.
